Conor , I can see that your order was signed for and received by you on Saturday the 25th of January. You placed the order at 10.41AM last Monday and as you can see from the AN POST tracking we shipped the order the same day and we handed the parcel into the POST OFFICE ourselves as we do this to ensure even orders placed after the cut off are generally shipped the same day to our customers in Ireland and across Europe. In fairness to An Post they lost 2 days last week to day weather one day nationally and one day locally with weather warnings and it also looks like the parcel was not sent from the local post office to the national parcel centre in port laois until Tuesday which is unusual and I cannot explain that other than to say there was flooding in Carlow last Monday which is why we dropped 50+ parcels to the Castledermot post office. We could not physically get to the sorting centre on the opposide side of Carlow and this does seem to have delayed your order by 24 hours and this was our mistake but we were trying to ensure the parcel shipped as the alternaive was the parcel not shipping until the Tuesday but this happened anyway. An Post could not deliver on Thursday or Friday however why they did not deliver on Wednesday I cannot explain. I have sent an email to An Post asking for an explanation however it is unlikley I will get a quick reply as they are still very bust due to the Holy Head fiasco from December. I am sorry you order was delayed and we accept we created a delay of 24 hours but please understand we do state delivery can take 1-5 business days with 98% of orders in Ireland delivered within next day and we state this as there can be anomalies which has happened to your delivery with An Post. An Post offer a very good service but last week was not a normal week for them or ourselves as we could not open on Friday and we had to close at 2PM on Thursday due to the weather however we did manage still to ship all Irish and European orders which were placed on the days they were placed. Can you please reconsider the STAR rating as there was exceptional circumstances last week with multiple weather warnings for An Post and on top of this last Monday we had local bad weather which stopped us from using the local An Post distribution and Sorting Office which is why we had to send a staff member 15 Kilometres to Castledermot in Kildare to ship from the post office in Kildare. I am sure you experienced the weather yourself and you are aware there were no postal of courier deliveries at all on Friday with limited deliveries on Thuesday however An Post , GLS and even DPD were out on Saturday also in bad weather ensuring they were able to deliver a lot of delayed parcels to customers which they were not obliged to do. We work with AN POST as they know their customers locally and this helps when delivering in Ireland and even to many EU countries. GLS we work with as they deliver to many EU countries quickly but even they wold not have been able to deliver to you any quicer last week as their service in Ireland for us is 1-3 days with a cut off of 12 noon and with your order being placed at 10.41AM we would not have been able to pick and pack your order to ship on Monday with GLS so they also would have had issues with the weather and I expect it would be today 7 days later they would be delivering to you. We do not offer a same day or next day delivery guarantee and our guarantee is to ship the same day as we cannot control the service of a carrier like GLS or AN POST however in our experience AN POST deliver 98% of parcels In Ireland next day but there are local area were this does not happen and many of the people living in these areas will already be aware there can often be delays in their local areas. We for example know deliveries to Macroom and local ares to Macroom generally take 2 business days with AN POST and in the past we have seen serious delays in this area with DPD which we were never able to explain.
